2026 May Bike Campout

Calling all Troop and Crew 5!

Come join us for our May campout along the Des Plaines River Trail at Van Patten Woods!

This is a unique one-night campout with optional biking along the trail!

Scouts and adult leaders participating in the Summer 2026 bike trek will be biking to/from camp. All other participants are welcome to bring their bikes to go on a 5-mile ride from camp, but will need to transport their own bikes.

Patrol leaders – Coordinate with your patrol to get them to sign up and select a grubmaster.  We need accurate counts to plan properly for the campouts!  The signup will be open until Sunday, May 10.

Drivers always needed!  If you will drive, please select “Adult Camper – RSVP” and you can provide information about how may people you can transport.  Adults and youth must have up-to-date health forms part A and B for this campout.  In addition, all adults wishing to camp must have completed a current Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT).  This can take up to a week to complete so please start ASAP if you are not up-to-date.  If you are interested in being the Lead Assistant Scout Master (ASM) or the Committee Grubmaster for this campout, please make a note in the memo field.

Note: We will need one adult driver to support the bike trek participants.

Gear Pull: Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 pm – First Presbyterian Church of Wilmette (FPCW) 

Departure for Bike Trek Participants: Saturday, May 16 at 7:30 am from FPCW

Departure for Regular Campers: Saturday, May 16 at 9 am from FPCW

Return: Sunday, May 17 around mid-morning for campers and later for bike trek participants
